Walk with elephants at seven

Mole National Park covers a great sweep of savannah woodland in the north-west. Its elephants are the reason most people come: in the dry season they gather near the waterholes below the escarpment, and you can walk towards them on foot with an armed ranger.

On the way in you pass Larabanga, a village known for its whitewashed mud mosque in the Sudano-Sahelian style, one of the oldest in the country. (to verify) (to verify) (to verify)

Why go

Mole is not a Kenyan safari and we will not sell it as one. Its pleasure is different: walking rather than driving, a park without crowds, and the sense of the savannah north after the forest south. Antelope, baboons, warthogs and birds are common; elephants are likely in the dry season, never promised.
